New Uniform's in College Football

If you want to be a successful college football coach you have to be a great recruiter. One of the biggest tools that some of the best college football coaches in the nation use are new uniforms. New uniforms are exciting for the players and the fans. Oregon for example has not worn the same uniform combination in two straight games in the past two years. Some people don’t like that teams like Oregon wear 20 different uniform combinations some people like the old fashioned traditional looking uniforms, but that is a look of the past.

3 of Oregon's Many Uniform Designs

What is the recipe for an exciting new college football uniform? Is it the neon colors or the thousands of different design types? All of these different design types are not cheap for these college football programs. But what these uniforms do for a college football program is lure attention, which lures recruits.

Tennessee's Brand New "Smokey" Grey Uniforms

These new uniforms drum up a lot of attention for these college football programs, good and bad. “I know that the first couple of years many people were saying they hated the uniforms,” Mike Belloti (Former Oregon Ducks head football coach) said. “But they were talking about them.” And that is exactly what teams like Oregon are trying to do.

Some of the critics of these new uniforms say that they are making a circus of college football. But maybe that is what college football needs. College football was starting to look like a bland and uninteresting event. People want to watch teams like Oregon play because they are winning and they look good while doing it.

Northwestern's Patriotic Uniform

Although new uniforms may not seem like a big deal in the recruitment of a college football player, it actually is more than meets the eye. For some players different uniforms may be the deciding factor on what school they want to play for. New uniforms are one of the most popular and most important factors in the recruitment of college football players in this day and age.

  1. Nice post Bobby, all the jerseys are pretty ridiculous looking. Would be interesting to see or if you could find information on interviews were recruits may have mentioned that a jersey made their decision for that school
